A savvy couple have revealed how they upcycled their coffee table into a cosy pad for their dog for only £16.50.
The pair managed to pull off the bargain DIY project using items they already owned, as well as a few purchases from B&M – and it turned out brilliantly.
What started as an old unused wooden coffee table was completely transformed with the help of a lick of paint, bedding and hard-work .

“Our first little ‘upcycle’ project… total cost of £16.50 plus and old coffee table, pillow, a throw and a pup!”
The first thing they had to do was remove the legs sand the coffee table – which was originally purchased from B&M a while back.
Then they painted it a light grey colour, and, using a £1.50 tester pot of white paint and some stickers, also spelt Rodney’s name on the back of the bed.
All that was left was to flip it upside down and add a comfy cushion and throw blanket.
The pair took to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing & Bargains UK to share the amazing before and after pictures, and was soon inundated with comments for other avid diyers and dog owners.
Since then the post has received 3,600 likes and 350 comments from people praising their savvy idea.
One person said: Oh look at him! I’ve got a pug may have to try something like this! xx”
Another person added: “I have the same table and we hardly use it. Definitely thinking of gifting our boy with a up cycled bed because he loves his little cosy spaces.”
A third also commented: “That’s so good, clever you to have thought of it.”
And a fourth admitted: “I chucked mine after I moved! Wished I kept it now.”
